Fostering Management Techniques
BluegrassNet Development (BGND) has created an information management system that consolidates and displays data and documents in the most complete and easily navigable method possible. The software application, built for an Indiana Foster Care program, Regional Youth Services (RYS) has been tested and fully deployed for fulltime use by the organization.
By gathering information in one place, RYS staff will be able to visualize relationships among foster children, biological homes, foster homes, schools and health providers in new ways. This increased awareness can better help to identify appropriate foster or adoptive families to attain permanency for a significantly greater number of children. It can also help young adults transition to independent living.
Electronic Case Management Features Include:
• Child and biological parent information, demographic information, disabilities, report cards and placement history.
• Electronic document filing. Scan store and organize medical and legal documents for a paper-free office.
• Expense account tracking and automatic fund dispersal for allowances
• Integrated billing system
• Scheduling and reminders for case reviews
• Human resources information for your organization
• Safely communicate from anywhere via an encrypted Internet connection
BGND spent months absorbed in human health services, like Regional Youth Services’ foster care program. BGND created this software application with only Regional Youth Services in mind. However, the same ideas that produced the software for RYS can be shaped for any HHS organization. For instance, if a substance abuse facility wanted to track the demographics of the individuals in the program and their success rate electronically, this program could be tailored to match these needs along with others.
