BluegrassNet has an e-mail server policy for all customers and sub-nets that are running their own mail server:

• BluegrassNet requires that all entities existing on the BluegrassNet network and sub-networks adhere to RFC 822 which requires that every mailserver on the net must have a working "Postmaster" address. Whenever ORBS detects a new open relay, it mails a notice to postmaster@open.relay. If you are the admin of the machine(s) listed above, please verify your postmaster@address is setup correctly and that your reverse DNS entry is correct.
  
• BluegrassNet subscribes to the www.orbs.org list of open relay mail servers. This is an effective way of combating "spam" mail and all Bluegrass.Net mail servers are tied to that database. We highly recommend that all customers with their own networks implement the same policy. BluegrassNet WILL NOT accept e-mail from "open relay" servers.
• Spamming (sending unsolicited mass e-mail) is absolutely prohibited from the Bluegrass.Net network. We take this very seriously. Please review our BluegrassNet Acceptable Use Policy. Our fines and penalties are outlined there. Bottom line: we will cut you off.
• BluegrassNet maintains a "fall-back" server for all customers forwarding MX mail records to their networks (and subsequently to their mail servers). This is provided for dedicated customers only. Please ask your BGN service representative about the details.

BluegrassNet maintains a technical support staff on duty from 8AM to 9PM, Monday thru Friday, and from 10AM to 6PM on Saturdays & Sundays.

Technical Support is intended to lend support to BluegrassNet clients in the event that their Internet Connections are not working properly, or if applications that relate to the Internet are not working properly.

Dedicated Accounts with e-mail servers have a special telephone number to call should anything go wrong with their e-mail feed through BluegrassNet. That telephone number is 502-639-5773. This line is monitored 24/7.
