2 Steps to Effectively Filter Unwanted Messages

1.)   Spend a couple of weeks to customize the Spam Filters to the most effective settings (requires a little trial and error to see what works best)

2.)   Use the Approved Senders and Blocked Senders lists

Customizing Your Junk Email Settings

To customize your mail filtering click on Junk Email Settings.

This will take you to your Junk Email Settings, which will determine what messages are filtered.

Junk Email Settings is composed of 3 sections: Junk Email Blocking, Spam Filters, and Sender Lists.

1.)   Junk Email Blocking: Allows you to turn the filtering services “ON” and “OFF.” If you would prefer not use these services simply click “OFF” in this section. (For steps on how to get to this setting click here)

2.)   Spam Filters: In this section you can customize how aggressive or how lenient you want to be when filtering messages in the categories of Bulk Mail, Sexually Explicit, Get Rich quick, Special Offers, and Racially Insensitive. The closer you have something set to “Aggressive” the higher the probability a message will be filtered. (For steps on how to get to this setting click here)

TIP: It is best to play around with these and find out which combination works best for you, this often takes a couple of weeks.

1.)   Sender Lists: This section gives you the ability permanently approve or block a sender.

Approved Senders: To avoid having a certain sender or domain from ever being filtered you should enter them in the Approved Senders list. To do this simply enter the e-mail address or domain (format: domain.com) and click the Save to List button. If successful it will appear in the list below. (For steps on how to get to this setting click here)

Blocked Senders: To avoid receiving mail from a certain sender or domain you should enter them in the Blocked Senders list. To do this simply enter the e-mail address or domain (format: domain.com) and click the Save to List button. If successful it will appear in the list below. (For steps on how to get to this setting click here)

Note: You can remove an entry from either list by clicking on an entry and then clicking on the Delete from List button below the list.
